ABOUT US

ABOUT US

member owned. member driven.

North Parkland Power Co-op brings over 25 years experience in rural electrification and industry knowledge.

Our understanding of the diverse area in which we operate provides our members with the assurance that their wants are being heard and their needs are being met.

Living in the region in which we operate allows us to support local businesses, which in turn nurtures our rural economy.

We pride ourselves in supporting local career programs and recruiting local talent. As a self operating, member owned organization, we own and maintain the power poles and lines in our operating area, which stretches as far south west as Morinville and as far north east as Lac La Biche. This equates to 1590 kilometers of line and approximately 15,900 power poles. Our team consists of 7 Journeyman Power-line Technicians, and a team of office staff, field support, and management that round out our diverse North Parkland Power Co-op team, providing valuable information and service to all our members.

A co-operative REA is owned and controlled by its members, who annually nominate and by vote, decide the Board of Directors. North Parkland Power Co-op promotes social as well as economical advantages, stimulating rural based employment and supporting our local economy.

If you are unsure of which zone you are in and which one your vote counts for please see the ZONE LIST .

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

North Parkland Power Co-op is governed by 9 ‘Member-elected’ Directors. Each serve for a three year term before their respective Director position is up for election/re-election. While sitting on the North Parkland Power Co-op board, the Directors role is to ‘protect and direct’ the Co-op’s assets. To effectively participate in this function, suitable Directors tend to come from both agricultural and business industries as their mandate covers a broad range of strategic issues from Government regulations in our industry to investment strategies.
